Expanded Polystyrene is an outstanding material with a unique set of properties that make it
Strong and Durable
Expanded Polystyrene is a robust and stable material that does not deteriorate with age.
Expanded Polystyrene brings the benefits of exceptional compressive strength and rigidity.
Be it in floor, wall or roof EPS provides a stable insulation performance across the life of a building.
EPS is an exceptionally lightweight solution for many construction applications.
As one of the UK’s leading Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) shape moulders DS Smith Plastics Foam Products manufacture a wide array of for EPS components and returnable packaging. However, what you may not know is that we also have a wealth of experience and knowledge manufacturing for the HVAC and Construction industries.
EPS has a huge role to play as one of the construction industries best performing and most cost effective insulating materials, its other properties and superior compressive strength makes it hugely popular for large and small-scale civil engineering projects.
We use the latest equipment to pre-expand and mould Expanded Polystyrene complex shapes. We also manufacture blocks of polystyrene, which have many applications across the construction industry:
- Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)
- Insulating Walls, Floors and Roofs
- Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs)
- Cavity Wall Insulation (Blown Bead)
- Off-Site Prefabrication
- Modular Builds
- Void fill
UK Block Moulding
Our block moulding capability is based in Livingston, Scotland where we manufacture both standard white EPS and grey graphite EPS which has further improved thermal performance.
Innovative, efficient and sustainable construction methods are at the forefront of most developer’s minds as they strive to make the eco homes of tomorrow. However, it’s not just big housing developers that are looking for new innovative construction methods.
Material of Choice
EPS is now known for its superior compressive strength, making it a good material of choice for load bearing and civil engineering projects.
At Foam Products we currently manufacture in accordance to EN 13163, we are working towards achieving this construction industry standard across all of our material grades.
