Moulded Foam

Moulded Foams

As one of the world’s largest custom moulders of foam materials, we offer an impressive array of cost effective materials.

Expanded material options for your specific applications include:

  • Expanded Polystyrene
  • Expanded Polypropylene
  • Porous Expanded Polypropylene
  • Expanded Polyethylene
  • ARCEL

These foams have specific characteristics, which suit different application areas, download our Materials Selection Matrix for some more in depth technical data on the materials we mould.

EPS and EPP have benefits in use that far out weigh the impact of manufacturing which only uses water and steam.

Material Properties

Different materials exhibit different benefits and choosing the right material for an application is key to the success of any project, whether it’s packaging, components or a product for retail.

The materials we manufacture have the following properties that can be used to enhance your applications:

  • Energy absorption
  • Insulation
  • Lightweight
  • Multi impact protection
  • Strength to weight ratio
  • Recyclable

Our moulded foams offer a high degree of dimensional tolerance making them ideally suited to applications where a good fit is required. Materials are 100% recyclable and contain no cfc’s or volatile organic compounds.

Expanded Foam Applications

Typical uses for our foam materials include:

  • Automotive impact protection
  • Automotive seating
  • Blown bead home insulation
  • Temperature controlled packaging
  • Reusable transport packaging
  • White goods packaging
  • Insulated HVAC housings
  • Acoustic tiles
  • Insulated concrete forms

A key safety advantage of EPP moulded foams is that it can sustain multiple impacts, following an impact EPP will return to its original shape without any substantial signs that it has been deformed.

In addition to automotive parts, this repetitive impact protection, weight reduction and flexibility in terms of development means EPP suitable for protective sports padding. Skins can also be added to provide a level of protection against ballistics.
